Last weekend John (one half of Wessex Weddings) was invited to photograph some traditional Irish musicians at Tull, East Clare, Ireland. As many of them are traditional music legends he jumped at the chance!
Thus sepia toned prints of traditional Irish musicians, including Martin Hayes, Dennis Cahill, Liz Carroll, Ged Foley, Catherine McEvoy and Joe Burke playing live in East Clare, Ireland can be purchased from John. Take a look at them here
Canon 5D MarkII

Camera shops are now taking advance orders for this new 21 mega-pixel Canon DSLR which should be actually on the high street by late October. Recommended selling price of US $2,699 which is about £1,500 given today’s exchange rate but Canon’s suggested retail price is a whopping £2,299 pounds sterling. Is this a case of rip-off Britain where Canon expect the UK punters to willingly fork out £800 more than purchasers in camera stores across the Big Pond. Canon will no doubt introduce Cashback reductions in a few months after the “I-must-have-it-NOW!” folks have got their mitts on what looks like a very high-spec model. The camera’s frames per second rate is too slow for professional sports/wildlife photographers but it could potentially, few have tested it yet, be Canon’s highest quality camera, at least for a few months until a 1D markIV,or whatever comes out. The 5D Mark II will be Canon’s first DSLR with HD video so wedding photographers can become videographers with just one touch of the centre wheel button. But perhaps the most practical features will be the improved noise reduction and ISO ranges of 50 to an unbelievable sounding 25,600. That’ll mean shooting should be possible in near dark conditions- great for wedding photographers in churches only lit by candlelights, and should allow me to move on to my next photo project “Goths in Coalmines”.
