Guests at Israeli wedding halls can now put a credit card into a machine at the entrance, tap in a sum and leave a gift for the happy couple. Rather than bring boxed gifts, guests at Israeli weddings usually leave cash or cheques in envelopes they slip into a portable safe placed near the entrance to the reception hall’s door, which the couple needs to collect after the wedding and deposit into their bank account. But now an Israeli company named Check-Out, has developed an ATM-like machine that enables guests to leave a wedding gift using their credit cards.This system could help young couples finance expensive weddings and avoid the need of selling several toasters on e-bay.

Award winning wedding photographers John Burton and Paul Quayle were in Bournemouth to photograph the wedding of Amie and Matt. The reception was held at The Carlton Hotel and the Red Arrows amongst other flying display teams were also staying at the hotel and provided a fantastic aerial display above the skies of Bournemouth. The aeronautical loops made for a great backdrop for the wedding guests as they sat having a few drinks around the pool of the hotel above the crowded beach.

Wedding photographer in Dorset wins Renaissance photography competition

John Burton, a wedding phoptographer based near Blandford, Dorset was awarded first prize in the first Renaissance photography competition. John’s photography was praised by Eamonn McCabe, Mary McCartney and musician KT Tunstall. The image of five African children can be viewed at The British Journal of Photography site calling for entries for the 2009 contest.

More choice for church weddings in Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire

There is now more choice for church weddings in England, and the Church of England have said it was now able to offer the “widest wedding welcome” in its history. New Anglican church rules have come into force that make it easier for brides and grooms to have their wedding service in a church where they have a family or a special connection.There are 54,000 weddings a year in England’s Anglican churches and couples will now find it easier to get married in one of the CofE’s 16,000 churches.
